‍ ‍ Today was the big day for the movement of migrating Broad-winged hawks over our watch site at Bear Mountain State Park.

‍ ‍ The third week in September signals the beginning of the mass migration of raptors through SE New York State. We’ll be following these birds for the nest three months.

We’re in the final week of Summer 2026 and signs of Autumn as gradually appearing.

We are back to the mountain in the hope of counting good numbers of migrating hawks this season.
